sneak peek at josh & renita's big day

"rain, rain go away, for josh & renita's wedding day..." is a song i heard a guest singing before the wedding. this was the saturday when it poured all day long. we had looked forward to an outdoor wedding and reception on renita's family property, but the weather brought on a whole new adventure. here is a peek at their rainy, but fun and memorable wedding day. more to come...!

update...

yesterday, my dad, mom, & i took my sister, abbey to the airport. she is in the air right now, for 14 hours straight, on her way to brisbane, australia...the other side of the world. she'll be doing a sports dts there through ywam, and will return home in april (similar to the mad dts i did there in '04/'05 and the same as jay's in '05/'06). we will miss you super much...especially on photo shoots...!!

as far as photography...this weekend i've been working on my new blog and new website which will be a bit easier for clients to use...and i think look pretty cool, too.  stay tuned! hopefully i'll be posting a peek at josh & renita's wedding and some other shoots from the past couple weeks soon...! sorry i've been backed up a bit with lots of editing...but i guess it's a good thing!

the king family shoot

jay & i enjoyed another fun shoot in lancaster city...my first with a family, actually. we knew the kings briefly from going to locust grove in grade school, but their kids were all younger than us, and jeez they grew up since i'd last saw them! jody's boyfriend joined us for the shoot, too. we started out around central market and then ended up on top of the prince street parking garage. i had this idea in my head for their family pictures up there, but when we got to the elevator on the ground floor, it wasn't working due to "off" hours. but the kings were all into the shoot and adventured with jay and i and our equipment up i believe 8 flights of stairs or so. it was definitely worth it. there wasn't a cloud in the sky, which isn't great lighting-wise for pictures, but made for some sweet, less traditional shots, which i love! thank you, kings, for such a fun family shoot!

engaged...jordan & danielle!

jay and i met jordan & danielle at the lancaster city train station to start out their engagement shoot. i had never shot there before...but knew i would love it! the two of them kept laughing and we had a great time! jordan & danielle both play guitar, so we then took them to an open field and got some sweet shots of them playing...! jay and i were definitely impressed and entertained! jordan & danielle, i loved shooting your engagement pictures and just watching the two of you interact. we got some of my favorite shots yet! God's best as you plan for your big day!
