the yoder family

jay & i have known the yoders for years. we both went to school with josh, their oldest son (pictured in the center, below) ever since 4th grade. zach, their second son (far right) left for australia two weeks ago to do a ywam discipleship training school. so before he left, they asked if i could do a last minute family shoot for them.

i was just getting over the flu, and dale (dad) was just getting hit with it, plus it was cold and rainy that afternoon, but i think we came up with a couple good shots...

the last senior of the year...

my last senior shot in '08 was sam from penn manor. i enjoyed all the beautiful fall colors from this shoot...i'm really ready for winter to be over!

sam rebuilt the tractor he's pictured with for his senior project. it took him most of last summer to do it. i definitely was impressed! and loved the color! it was fun photographing him with it on their property, along with trying to convince him to take his hat off (which he finally did for the last shot)!

sam...enjoy the rest of your senior year...you're halfway done!!!

happy new year!!!

happy new year! i hope all of you enjoyed counting down the last minutes of 2008 and bringing in the new year! jay and i spent our new year's eve downtown lancaster...and endured the freezing cold weather! jay had done it other years with some friends, so he thought it'd be fun if we celebrated this way together this year. with our "countdown lancaster" buttons, we could go to different indoor locations throughout the evening for various entertainment, food, and warmth! jay and i enjoyed watching two different comedians...a juggler and a stunt performer, as well as trying out the fairly new ad lib cafe for dinner. we also grabbed some coffee at square one and spent some time at our friends' house downtown. finally we fought through the freezing hour from 11-12 outside while a band played, leading up to the countdown to '09. the disappointing thing was the wind...so they couldn't shoot off fireworks at the end of the evening, but just lit some firecrackers on the ground.

here's a fun collage i made up from the night....beginning with kona who wished she could have been in on all the fun!...(she usually runs to this spot on our couch by the door when she knows we are about to leave her...)
