introducing....lily sophia

i feel like lately, all i've been photographing & editing are babies...but i'm definitely not complaining! i have a few more baby shoots i am working on right now, so keep checking back...

i posted a peek of lily back in january when she was born, but here are some more finally! my previous blog post was of (not so little) lily in her mommy's belly! 

one of the things i love most about this baby is her name. lily means purity, and sophia means wisdom. i think that's why i love this first shot so much...i see the purity and wisdom already in her...even as a newborn!

deb's belly shoot

i just love belly sessions...especially when i'm photographing friends whose babies i look forward to loving and babysitting! deb is a good friend of mine from church. she has been a great listener and encourager in my transitions back to "normal" life here in lancaster, after doing mission work in other countries and struggling to find my purpose here.  so it was an honor to use my gift of photography to take some beautiful belly pictures of her, as well as newborn portraits of little lily (coming soon!)

ralph, deb, lukas, and lily have a heart for germany (ralph is from there) and look forward to moving there sometime in the near future. while we'll miss them greatly, we know God's got even greater plans for them there...

keene's birth...11.04.08

i had the incredible opportunity to go into the hospital and photograph the lehman family's first moments with baby keene. i posted one shot back when he was first born, but now i am finally catching up with the rest. 

i got a text message from mary (her belly pictures are my previous post) at 3:45 am november 4th, saying they were heading into the hospital. i'm glad i jumped out of bed and got in there, because about an hour later, keene michael made his entrance! here are some of my favorite shots from that memorable morning...

going back a few months....to the beautiful fall, jay and i enjoyed a fun afternoon with derv, mary, mark, & jade. the lehmans go to our church, and have become close friends of ours. i've enjoyed many babysitting days with mark & jade, as well as jade being the adorable flower girl in our wedding. 

when i heard that mary was expecting again, i was so excited! and we squeezed in the belly shoot just in time...keene made his entrance early, just two days after our shoot! here are some of my favorites from that day...what a beautiful family!

sneak peek...aviva & dustin's wedding!

this past saturday, jay & i spent our valentines day shooting a beautiful wedding at the reading country club. just as the reception started, it began to snow! so we headed outside to get this gorgeous shot of the bride & groom, aviva & dustin!

the newest addition to bjf photography...

she's finally here! meet the 5D mark II...the newest addition to bjf photography. i have been waiting what felt like years for this camera to finally arrive, so when i woke up to the email on my phone last week that it was shipping, i could barely wait! 

i first heard about this camera and tested it out at the photo conference/expo in new york back in the fall. it was already backordered by practically every camera company, so when B&H began to take orders for it again, i jumped on it! this was definitely a huge "leap" for me....but i know it will be worth it! i cannot wait to use it for the first time at saturday's wedding!

what a beautiful "spring" day!!!

this morning when jay and i left for church, our car said it was 60 degrees outside...how much better could it get for being february 8th?!!! so we took the amazing opportunity to enjoy it this afternoon, and went for a walk with kona and i brought along my newest addition to the family/bjf photography and got these shots (i'll make sure to post about that later!) it was so nice just to be out at musser park again and see families outside playing & walking...i'm so ready for spring! we then went home and kona just cried at the front door; i think she loved being back outside too! so we went back out for a longer walk.  

hopefully this weather will stay...but my luck, it will freeze up again just in time for next weeks' wedding!
