new product...storyboards!

while the winter has been slow with shoots...i've been busy re-doing, organizing, and creating new things. i have a lot of new products and news to post here...and here is the first i'll feature. they're called storyboards...an artsy, modern, creative way to display your favorite images. i'll soon be offering these for all my shoots...

this is my first sample. i can create them in pretty much any size...this is the smallest (8x10). this one is mounted on styrene board (2mm thick), which makes it very durable and affordable. it can then be put in a frame, hung with ribbon, or leaned on a ledge. i will also be offering these mounted on standout, a 3/4" board, which is a bit pricier, but ready to hang (frameless).

hope

what would i do if i had no hope? 

this question has been on my mind throughout the past few days. when i heard of the lmh senior, micah, who was in a bad car crash earlier this week. i couldn't help but flash back to my senior year...and relive those terrible memories of hearing that ryan (a classmate since elementary school) had been killed in a car accident. nothing can explain in those moments how you feel, yet i can't even comprehend what the families' must be going through. it makes you question a lot of things....but from somewhere, somehow, God comforts me and says He will grieve with us, and carry us through. He holds the answers to all of those questions we battle and cannot comprehend. He holds us and comforts us. and He gives us hope....hope to carry on.

micah's family, we are praying for you. and we are rejoicing with your son as he hangs out with Jesus today.

i don't usually write this personal on my business blog...but i felt i should today...i just needed to for some reason. God is doing something big. God has given me hope. this time last year, i was finally getting out of bed again. for those of you who don't know, i was real sick last year. it hit sometime in january and i felt like i was going to die. no, it doesn't compare to what a lot of people have to go through, but it was a journey God brought me on and continues to...and it has brought me hope. i went back to my natural doctor this past monday and she had the most incredible news. she said i am better...that i am healthy again. and while some numbers are still a little off, my immune system is strengthened and my body is functioning well again. what a thing to be thankful for...that's so easy to take for granted. i am so blessed. and there's no way that those parasites will keep me away from australia, fiji, guatemala...etc again! when God says it's time...i am there!

baby bowie was quite the cutie...he loved being photographed, especially on his belly! there was no way we were going to get him to fall asleep in this session! 

his big brother, rocco, was thrilled to have me over. he wanted to keep getting in the shots and showing me all his cool toys. then he pleaded me to stay and watch a movie afterwards. i love the brother shots...they're going to be the best of buds!

and bowman and his mom...i love how he's looking into her eyes in the second shot. such a priceless moment!

engagement shoot with becky & justin

beautiful weather + engagement shoots=spring is here! 

jay and i enjoyed a fun sunday afternoon with becky & justin, getting some great shots at lititz springs park. the sun seemed to be fighting me (every time i'd comment that the lighting was perfect, it would peek out of the clouds!)...but we made the best of it!

becky & justin's big day is coming up in just a little over a month! and then the spring/summer/fall craziness begins! while i've been enjoying this slow pace for the past couple months, i'm ready for the warm weather and season of shoots!

so this is totally not related to photography....but i was driving down queen street today and saw we are getting a "fractured prune."  i freaked out.  for those of you who don't know what it is....it's a donut shop...and they are pretty amazing donuts.  it's probably not a good thing that we are getting one downtown since i am trying to eat healthy....

introducing...violet olivia

another beautiful baby! this little one had gorgeous black curls...and look at those lips! i couldn't stop snapping on this shoot...violet was sooo cooperative! my first to photograph that was truly sleepy! i love the shot of her in the basket sucking her finger...definitely my fav of the day!
